According to the Portuguese Society of Ophthalmology (SPO), one in five school-aged children wear glasses due to increased tasks, the use of computers and tablets, excessive television and exposure to artificial light, the genetic component and the prematurity. Screening gives parents an indication of their children's visual acuity (VA), depth perception and eye alignment, visual screenings also test eye movement. The importance of this screening is all the greater as its timely detection allows to avoid or treat, effectively and simply, the low visual acuity.
